All I want for Christmas...

Is my 3 front teeth!! The tooth fairy has visited our house a lot lately!!

Unfortunetly, Gracie inherited my horrible eye sight. I got my first pair of glasses in 2nd grade too! When we went to the doctor for a well child exam, she couldn't read the eye chart. So we scheduled an eye exam and found out she needed glasses. She was actually really excited. No self consciousness whatsoever. I was so relieved! And I think she looks so cute!
The Secret Santa Workshop has been at Gracie's school the last few days. I let her take the $5 she got from the tooth fairy to buy a Christmas present for her dad. So when she came home with this little box with a heart shaped necklace inside, I thought she changed her mind and decided to buy herself a gift instead. But then she told me that Corbin gave it to her. Corbin has been her off and on BF for the last two years.

How cute is that?!? She was so excited! Now she just has to decide what to get him for Christmas.

I have to be honest, I was not prepared for this. She's almost 8 years old, but COME ON! When I was in 2nd grade boys were the furthest thing from my mind. I think it's cute puppy love and all, but I'm not ready for this! Can't they just stay younger longer?!?

Back in business

Now that I've removed about 10 thousand pictures from my computer it works again!! Imagine that! I've actually had lots of cute pictures I've wanted to add and stuff I wanted to blog about but my computer wouldn't download a single new pic until I deleted some to make room for the new ones. So here is my 10 for the price of 1 post!

Ready to go feed the ducks.... but Hadlie saw me get the camera out so we had to have an impromptu photo shoot.

A day at the zoo...

My hatchlings

After the zoo...

Gracies' dance recital. Braylee and Brooklyn came too.

I know. You love her costume and wish you had one just like it right?

On Hadlies' birthday she woke up to streamers and confetti everywhere. She was amazed!

Her birthday loot from us. Her favorite thing was her Madagascar card that played "move it" and had some serious bass. 2 months later and she is still playing with that card. Best birthday present ever!

Some cool new shades!

Her new bike from Grandpa & Grandma Miller

Easter morning

The Easter bunny made it!

How cute is that face!?! This is Lucky

Buckles and Lucky. Tyson and Lacey's babies.

He's not diggin all the attention

Gracie and Hadlie wakin up on Easter morning with Lexi. We got to babysit her while her family was out of town.

Lexi and Denny's first play date

Denny~ Carly and Austin's pound puppy. Isn't he adorable?

Do you see now why we decided we had to get a dog? Lexi and Denny and Buckles and Lucky..... Too many cute dogs. But we needed one that wouldn't go home. So we got Ollie!(formerly Jasker). We adopted him from the Humane Society in April. He's about 2 years old and he's perfect for us. After some adjustment time it's pretty smooth sailing now. Here are some before and after pics.....

We were told we couldn't bath him for 10 days because he was just neutered 2 days before we got him. But he stunk so bad nobody wanted to touch him! So we gave him a bath with a strategically placed wash cloth and everything stayed in place just fine. So this is Ollie after his first bath (probably ever).

Here he is after some at-home trimming

And after a professional grooming

He gets trampled a lot for being the same color as the hard wood floors

He loves the kids and the kids love him

Welcome Home Ollie!

He did it!

Jayson finally finished Breaking Dawn! It took him a few weeks to read Twilight. It took him about 2 days to read Midnight Sun. It took him about 3 months to read New Moon. He got to about chapter 6 and then it sat on his nightstand forever! But after he picked it back up again he flew through it. He read the rest of NM and Eclipse and Breaking Dawn in a few weeks maybe. Pretty Good for a guy!
Me- "So? What did ya think"
Jayson- "I liked it".
Me- " So you just read over two thousand pages and that's all you have to say?"
Jayson- "Yep"
Me- "OK"
Yeah he liked it alright! I've know him for 15 years and Twilight is the first book I've seen him read. He likes it alot more than he lets on. I've caught him watching the movie all by himself more than once!
Way to go honey. I'm proud of you!

My baby is 3!

On April 16th at 7:38 pm to be exact, Hadlie will turn 3. It doesn't seem possible! I think I'm in denial. Turning 3 is like going from baby to big girl over night. I always tell her "Never grow up. Just stay how you are." and every once in a while she asks me "Mom, can I grow up today?" LOL!
Hadlie has been so much fun to have around. She is non-stop laughs! There is never a dull moment with her around. When I was pregnant with her and found out that she was a girl, I thought "oh, how fun, another little Gracie." Boy was I wrong! They are like night and day in both looks and personality. Hadlie is incredibly strong willed, loud, rambunctious, moody, wild and crazy. I always joke that she is the boy I'll probably never have. She has a tendency to get in trouble. We are in the process of installing a new toilet right now because she flushed a glove down the toilet one day and the next day she flushed the lid to my hairspray and it is STUCK! Not to mention the "I didn't mean to" incident 2 posts ago. Among other things like coloring on everything, cutting up her clothes, destroying her bedroom every other day and then there's the never ending bedtime routine that usually takes about an hour. We've actually had to put a lock on her door and lock her in her own room. Child Abuse!!! This is all probaly normal kid stuff but it's all new to me. This is my first time experiencing it because Gracie was a little angel and never pulled any of the stuff Hadlie does.
She is my little ball of energy who is the funniest 2 (well 3) year old I have come across.(I know I'm partial though). Hadlie is super smart (and a smart a** too). She is soooo social and loves to talk to strangers and make new friends.(Kinda scary) She is so loveable always giving us hugs and kisses randomly telling us she loves us about 10 times a day. What a girl! I wouldn't trade her for anything. These are all the reasons we love her so much. She's got a personality all her own!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HADS!!!

We met Rachelle Lefevre from Twilight!

My friend Lisa (who hasn't read the Twilight series or seen the movie) called me about 9:30 last night to let me know that one of the Twilight actors would be at the Riverton Wal-Mart. (She got insider info from a relative who works there.) So after much begging and pleading for her to come with me, she finally agreed, letting me know that I owed her big-time because she was in her pj's and ready for bed. I got ahold of Brandie right before we left and she agreed to come.

Brandie & Lisa

When we got there it was pure madness. This is where we were and the view we had. As you can tell we couldn't see a thing!

I also called Lindsay (fellow TM and Twilight freak) on our way there and she came from Bountiful and met us.

Lisa, Brandie and I trying to get our picture with Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) in the background.

After some major hook-up from Lisa's relative we were able to get a lot closer. He even got us all signed copies of the DVD!

She is so pretty and even more so in person.

We didn't get to go through the line and actually meet her but we were able to sit about 10 -15 feet away from her for about an hour and a half and watch her interact with the fans. It was so fun! She was so nice and never quit smiling the entire time. We all said her cheeks had to be sore from all that smiling! Thanks Lisa for getting us "in". I totally owe you! And thanks Jayson and Brandie for humoring an obsessed fan. That was a blast. And to my super cool mother in law, Khris who came to watch my kids til 1:30 in the morning! Love you guys!

P.S. Sam, I didn't forget you! I thought about calling you, but I knew you were home alone with Tayte and wouldn't want to drag him out til the wee hours of the morning!

I didn't mean to....

So I was working on the laptop upstairs when I lost my internet connection and had to go downstairs to try to fix it. When I went downstairs Hadlie was sitting on the couch getting her daily dose of Dora. I was probably downstairs for about 15 minutes and that motherly sixth sense kicked in that told me something wasn't quite right. So I went upstairs to check on her and she was right where I left her watching Dora. She heard me come up the stairs and turned around and smiled at me and said "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Oh crap. What did she do? She says "come here, I'll show you." She lead me into my bathroom where I could hear the water running in the bathtub before I even got in there, and found this........

She had chucked the enire contents of my top drawer(which was all very organized) (oh, and why don't we throw in some slippers too while we're at it)into the tub and was running the water all over everything! I had to immediatly leave and lock myself in my closet and laugh. Then I went out with a straight face and made her go to time-out. Then after time-out she helped me dry everything off and put it all away. Luckily nothing was ruined, but it's not fun to try to put makeup on when all your brushes are wet! Little Stinker!

This & That

It's been a slow month for blogging. So I decided to post a little of this and a little of that. Just to give myself something to do. It's either blog or clean, and I'm just not in the mood to clean right now.

The night before Gracie's birthday we had a surprise "get together".(Because technically she wasn't going to have a party this year) The girls came in their pj's. They ate and played and watched a movie, and went home at 10:00pm. It was my kind of party. No games or prizes. I didn't have to entertain them. And they still had lots of fun. Short and sweet!

For Christmas Gracie asked for an American Girl doll. But she got an ipod instead. I figured she would forget about the doll after Christmas, but she didn't. I just have a hard time dropping $100+ on a doll. But that was all she wanted. She begged and begged. So She finally got the doll for her birthday. I'll never forget the look on her face when she opened it. It was way worth the money.

Then we took her to Red Robin for lunch, and went to see Hotel for Dogs. Which is a really cute movie and she loved it! Overall, I 'm pretty sure she had a great birthday!

Gracie & Hadlie enduring the long, boring winter months. Curling up in bed watching a movie.

They were super proud of this baby snowman they made all by themselves!

I met up with some old friends for lunch. Jaime Sommer and Angela Rasmussen. I hadn't seen them in over 10 years. It was so good to see them and catch up. We need to do that more often.

On Valentines we had a candlelight family dinner. I made everyone's favorite dinner. (lasagna) and decorated the table with rose petals and candy hearts, and set candles out everywhere. I made them wait downstairs until everything was ready. When they came upstairs they were all surprised. Gracie thought that was the neatest thing ever. She kept asking "Can we do this every Valentines Day?"

When Hadlie came up she said "Is it my birfday?" All she wanted to do was blow out the candles and make a wish.

The most fun they had was when dinner was over. They gathered up all the rose petals and threw them everywhere, buried each other, and had rose petal treasure hunts (where the petals were the treasure, I guess.)

And yesterday since Gracie was out of school, we went and saw Coraline in 3D. So here we are in our goofy 3D glasses. They left big dents in our noses too. But the movie was awesome. I think I liked it better than Gracie. It was kinda spooky for kids her age. She still liked it though. I know it's a thumbs up when she says "Can we buy that one when it comes out on DVD?"

So that's a little of what's been going on the last month. I can't wait til spring!
